The first pallet of stretchfilm series “OTTO” has been delivered to a customer

The series “OTTO” is the result of a 2 -year work

To obtain a downgauged blown stretchfilm, using at least 30% of post consumer recycled raw materials, required months of close collaboration between Se.co.pack and Trioworld.

The challenge was to be able to obtain a product with the same perfomance as the pre-stretched blown film produced by virgin granules.

Obviously, it was not considered acceptable that the use of recycled raw materials coud affect the quality of the product and its effectiveness.

New raw materials selection procedures, new recipes in the extrusion phase and new investments in converting plants to create high quality products were developed, starting from the principle that the stretchfilm must contain the load and protect the goods shipped.

Characterized by the transparent/amber color, is now available a pre-stretched blown film 8µm thickness with 30% of post consumer recycled raw materials. It is produced in 2 versions:

  • for manual use
  • for use on semi-automatic machines without pre-stretch device

Combining the reduction in thickness and the use of 30% recycled raw materials has multiple advantages in relation to the environmental impact:

  • lightweight packaging and less plastic waste to be handled after use
  • reduction of virgin raw materials
  • reduction of extraction and production of virgin fossil raw materials
